Privacy policy

Effective November 4, 2026. This policy explains what information is, and is not, handled when you use qpdf.ca.

Summary

Qpdf does not collect your documents. PDF processing on qpdf.ca happens in your web browser, on your device. Qpdf has no user accounts, uses only Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless page-view statistics, described below), has no advertising, and does not set tracking cookies.

Who operates Qpdf

Qpdf (qpdf.ca) is developed by wealththeory.ca in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Your documents

When you select a file in a Qpdf tool, it is read and processed by software running in your browser. Qpdf does not upload, receive, store or have access to your documents, their file names, or information extracted from them. The processed result is saved directly to your device. See how Qpdf works for a technical explanation.

Information stored in your browser

Qpdf uses your browser’s local storage features for functionality only:

This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to Qpdf. You can delete it by clearing site data for qpdf.ca in your browser.

Hosting and technical information

qpdf.ca is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. on its Cloudflare Pages service. When your browser requests the website’s pages and files, Cloudflare necessarily receives standard technical information such as your IP address, the URLs requested, the time of the request and your browser’s user agent, and may process it to deliver and secure the service, in accordance with Cloudflare’s privacy policy. These requests do not contain your documents. Qpdf does not add advertising or tracking scripts to the website.

Web analytics

Qpdf uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure how many people visit the site. It is cookieless and does not use local storage or cross-site tracking. When it runs, Cloudflare receives the address of the page you viewed, the referring page, your approximate country, browser and device type, and page-loading performance, and processes it under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. It is not loaded when your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”. It never receives your documents, their names or their contents.

Contact form

If you write to us through the contact form, the name, email address, optional subject and message you type are sent over HTTPS to Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service, which forwards them to the site owner by email and may process them under its own privacy policy. This is the only feature on Qpdf that sends information you type to another service. We use it only to read and answer your message. The form cannot attach files: no PDF, and nothing extracted from a PDF, is ever sent. If you do not want to share this information, please do not use the form.

Cookies

Qpdf does not set cookies. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies for security purposes, such as protecting the website from abuse.

Links to other websites

Qpdf links to other websites, such as open-source projects and wealththeory.ca. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Children

Qpdf does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If Qpdf’s practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date above revised. Material changes — for example, any change that would involve handling your documents on a server — would be clearly announced on the site before they take effect.
